for Love
Walking in the Darkness
by Janet Marie Russo

140 pages

For Love: Walking in the Darkness is the story of one woman’s climb to overcome a childhood steeped in domestic violence. In a creative mix of poetry and prose, it catalogues the author’s struggle in coming to understand that the only person one can change is oneself.  It is a story of sorrow and of hope. It takes the reader from Russo’s earliest memories of chaos and abuse at four years of age through adulthood.  It is Russo’s hope that her story will help others in similar situations to also rise above and grow to health and success beyond their beginnings.

What Others Are Saying . . .

"Rarely has such an intimately personal and heartbreakingly painful memoir been presented with such unrelenting candor. Exceptionally well written, For Love: Walking in the Darkness deals honestly with a hard and all too prevalent an issue. Very highly recommended for community library collections, For Love: Walking in the Darkness is also available in a Kindle edition (9781938729478, $10.99)."
